Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting as a reporter at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was a anchor of the morning news and as a the crime reporter at WCBD TV. Her reporting of the ineffective response of the police to DUI incidents in Charleston led to an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell was a anchor, co-anchor, and investigative reporter for the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter. O'Dell's current role as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She co-hosted several of Pre-ShowArrivals programs to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She has also hosted The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
